Walk for Peace
Oct 26, 2025 - Feb 2026

https://www.facebook.com/walkforpeaceusa?mibextid=ZbWKwL
Buddhist monks from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth TX are making a 2,300-mile walk through 10 state capitals to Washington DC, talking with townspeople along the way and sleeping outdoors. Their daily meditations of metta (lovingkindness) and karuna (compassion) send out blessings and peace to all. Local residents often walk with them in person for a day. The monks invite everyone: "As we take physical steps for peace, we invite everyone to join our journey in spirit. Peace and unity begin within each of us. Today, practice kindness in your own life to walk with us mentally!" One monk noted that anyone who simply walks from their kitchen to their living room in a mindful way is participating in the Walk for Peace.
